What is Microneedling?
Micro-needling is a process that is used to improve the appearance of the skin. Pricking the skin with small sterile needles is part of the procedure. Your body produces more collagen and elastin due to the microscopic wounds, which mend your skin and make you look younger.
This non-invasive treatment requires little to no recovery time. The largest part of recovery is staying out of direct sunlight for a short period of time, and gently cleansing the treated area. Some common side effects include redness & tenderness for the days to follow, but typically subside in about 24 hours. A great benefit of micro-needling is you will begin to see results immediately after your first session, with even more flawless results for the weeks to come. Let our highly trained and licensed estheticians help you on your journey to correct textural skin imperfections with a quick and essential pain free treatment. The Process of Microneedling
Before the facial treatment, a topical anesthetic will be applied by your doctor 45 to 60 minutes before the therapy begins. This numbs the area and reduces any pain that may be experienced during the treatment. The treatment will be performed with an instrument with small needles, such as a dermapen or a dermaroller. The micro-needling device has been sanitized and is only intended for one usage. When the process starts, we will run the instrument across the skin evenly to produce tiny holes in the stratum corneum, the skin’s outermost layer. It takes about 15 to 30 minutes for the microneedling part of the treatment. During the treatment, the most typical sensation is a heated, scratching sensation as the instrument moves around the face. Pain is also possible in the “bonier” regions of your face, such as your hairline, forehead, and jawline. Aside from that, the topical anesthetic makes this process quite painless. Lastly, We shall apply saline pads to your skin after the treatment. We may use a gel face mask to help relax the skin and minimize irritation and redness in some circumstances. We may also prescribe topical creams and lotions to aid the skin’s healing process. After your appointment, you are free to leave the office. There isn’t any downtime required. For the first 2 to 3 days after the treatment, you may experience some redness and small skin irritation, but this is normal and should subside as your skin recovers. The production of new collagen takes time. For the skin to heal properly, you’ll need to wait for 2 to 6 weeks between treatments. Microneedling can take three to four sessions to see meaningful improvements.
